With his new live show “Mach mehr auf Deutsch!” (“Do more in German!”), Kai Sonnhalter reveals a new, stripped-back side. Alongside pianist Bernie Wittmann, the singer and guitarist presents his songs as an intimate acoustic duo — with more German-language lyrics, new arrangements, and a direct connection to largely German-speaking audiences. Instead of pyrotechnics and stadium stages, there are guitar, piano, and plenty of emotion. The rock band gets the night off; the melancholy in a major key remains.

kai sonnhalter has done all of this. in his mid-thirties, the german engineer quit his job, lifted his head into the clouds, and set off with a backpack and guitar. the result: songs shaped by encounters, travels, and over 30 years of musical experience – honest, raw, and deeply human.
